The sequel to Kempe Gowda is in the works. Producer Shankre Gowda had issued advertisements on actor Sudeep's birthday last month about the sequel titled Kempe Gowda 2. The first film was a remake of the Tamil film Singham. But the sequel is not a remake of Singham 2. It is an original and the story team is already working on it.
According to the producer, the shooting for the film could start as early as January 2014 or in February. Sudeep is currently directing Mirchi, which is a remake and is slated to act in a Kannada-Tamil bilingual to be directed by KS Ravikumar later this year. Kempe Gowda 2 will be directed by Sudeep as well, said Shankre Gowda.
